Arkansas Holds On to Beat Texas

STAFF REPORT
Arkansas used a dominant 15-0 run spanning the end of the first half (2:21) to the start of the second half (15:25) to turn a six-point lead into a commanding 21-point advantage (45-24). However, Texas responded with a strong rally late in the second half, cutting the deficit to single digits.
Despite the Longhorns’ surge, the Razorbacks made key plays down the stretch to secure a hard-fought 78-70 victory. The win marks Arkansas’ first conference matchup against Texas since 1990-91 and improves their record to 14-8 (3-6 SEC).

The Razorbacks entered the game (13-8, 2-6 SEC) in the highly anticipated conference matchup on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 8 p.m. (CT) in Austin’s Moody Center.
It marked the first conference meeting between the two programs since the 1990-91 season.
Arkansas leds the all-time series 87-68, though Texas has won five of the last seven meetings. After Texas, the Razorbacks will return home to host No. 3 Alabama on Feb. 8.
